I work at the intersection of community development and software, building practical
systems for downtown organizations, nonprofits and small cities. I started in the field as
a building inspector, later earned a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University
of Northern Iowa, and I still like connecting digital systems to the realities of physical
places.
Based in Iowa.
Background
I started in the field as a building inspector in Ottumwa and moved into community development
work. I served as a Community Development Director in Iowa and focused on downtown
revitalization, practical implementation, partnerships and helping small teams stay effective.
Current Work
MainSuite — Founder
MainSuite is an operations platform for downtown organizations and place-based nonprofits,
combining event and volunteer management, task tracking and document knowledge in a single
system, with built-in AI tools for note-taking, information retrieval and routine
administrative work.
Tiki X is a tiki bar and lounge concept centered on immersive design and a careful guest
experience. I’m developing the project with my wife, with an opening planned for early
2026, and opening and operating the space will be a major near-term chapter.
Pees & Queues provides a simple virtual queue for the restroom on group trips. Born
from a relatable, real-life experience, this web app helps reduce friction and maximize
fun when traveling with friends.
